The Rotary Club of Williamstown requested local consumers to 'Shop Local, Think Global' on Friday, 7th December, 2007. The Club invited all business, retail and non-retail, to participate in an International Day by donating a proportion of their sales revenue on this day to support the Club's international humanitarian relief efforts.
Our primary focus was the 'Safe Water Saves Lives' project to install clean water systems in East Timorese orphanages, significantly impacting on the health and life expectancy of young children.
All shoppers and consumers can be confident that their purchases on 7th December at participating business (identified by the Rotary International Day poster) helped to alleviate suffering amongst those less fortunate than themselves.
